The inside scoop on what all happens to a 32 year old guy in Omaha, Nebraska. You won't find all the latest gossip or reviews. Instead, you just get me and my world.

After 8 Years

That's right. Our 8 year anniversary is today. Hardly seems like it's been that long. (well I guess that depends on the day you ask me!! just kidding)

Being it's a Friday, we're not going to do anything. Restaurants are too busy here in the evening on weekends. Instead, we're going to go out tomorrow and treat ourselves to something good. I'm not sure where we'll go, but it should be much easier to get in somewhere on a Saturday afternoon than a Friday evening.

Often we get asked were we met. I love saying..."Online, in a chat room". Because it's true. At first, we didn't really talk that much. We both contributed to the usually dumb and pointless banter in the chat room, but we would talk ever once in awhile. The first time we actually met, and our attraction was solidified was in a "group meeting" with most of the regulars in the chat room. Everyone decided to meet for lunch and just hang out in person. It was fun, mostly becuse that is where we met. Both of us never said a word to each other I don't think. Mostly we just exchanged looks at one another across opposite ends of the table. It was after that meeting, that we talked online and the rest is history. It took a couple months before we actually started dating, which is what we set our anniversary date on. When we made it official, not our first meeting.

So, what chat was it on and what room? It was on IRC (using the mIRC client). Instant messengers and java chat weren't really around then. The room we met in was #gayomaha.

Ahhhh those were the days.

Winter

This weekend we got reminded it is winter in the US. Oddly, the Western part of the US seeing record lows, while the East is seing record highs. In Nebraska, we're right in the middle and luckily have missed alot of the bad weather. Not this weekend though. I was really enjoying not having much snow. Snow is a nasty 4 letter word in my opinion. It's messy, cold and makes everyday tasks so much more difficult. However it does make the fireplace seem much more practical and enjoyable.

Can't wait until Spring! Here's what it looked like this morning as I opened my garage door.... yuck. Thank goodness we only got a few inches.

Cross your fingers it's mostly melted on the driveway, that way I don't have to get the snowblower out and clean the driveway after work.....

New Year and a New Chapter

*cough choke sputter* Sorry, I have to get my blogging fingers back into shape. Nearly two months, yikes. I think that's the longest I've gone without typing in here since I started. I work at a couple different buildings now, so I don't have much time to read any blogs at work during my lunch breaks. So, I've got to do it all at home, which means working this in and not taking away from my TV and tivo schedule. Afterall, TV is like crack for me.

To be honest, not much has changed in my slice of life. However, I thought that since it's the new 007 year, I should resume ranting when needed. By the way, good to hear from all of you.

- Brandon: It's about FRIGGIN time you post again! *taps foot*

I've really come to wonder how to handle things on here. I see why many of you have kept a bit of anonyminity on here. It is easier. I have often had things happen in my life I'd like to put on here, but know friends read, and don't want them to be upset. Not everyone likes to have their lives blogged about. So, I have to keep things to myself. Sure I could change the names, but still, they would know even if others didn't know who I was talking about.

I understand the annonymous aspect now. At first, I didn't understand...it rather puzzled me. "Why would someone be so afraid to say names and show pictures, etc?" Well, it's because it makes it easier to say what is truly on your mind. I get it..... I do.

I'm not sure what spin I'll put on this so that I can share more and not be afraid of offending friends, etc. It'll be a project that is ever-changing. Maybe I can figure something out.

So, I will post more of my happenings from the Middle of the US. Not sure, maybe more pictures...we'll see.

Until then...take care everyone and I won't keep being a stranger.
