The inside scoop on what all happens to a 32 year old guy in Omaha, Nebraska. You won't find all the latest gossip or reviews. Instead, you just get me and my world.

Guys and Balls

Here's another movie review. I'm definitely taking advantage of my netflix membership and have been watching many foreign and other "gay" movies. Surprisingly, or not, netflix has a huge assortment.

Guys and Balls - I have to admit, I saw the title and just selected it. However, the movie turns out to be very different than the titles "suggests".

The story is about Ecki (main character) and his love of soccer/football. It's his life and unfortunate events happen that alienate him from his childhood city, family and friends. He then leaves this behind to find himself, escape the ridicule and quite possibly form a "gay team" to challenge the biggoted people he once played soccer with.

The movie is actually pretty good. German with English subtitles. It doesn't have nudity, if that's what you're looking for. Cutie David Rott plays Ecki's eye candy object of affection.

Of course, I wish there were some more scenes I thought there would be with a movie having such a title. Darn near porno sounding, but hey, sometimes it's good to watch a movie because of it's plot, not it's aesthetic qualities.

**Nothing else to say really, I haven't been posting much, perhaps my drive is down. I'll try and find a spark again...

Hellbent

Hellbent

Watched this movie last night. And here's my thoughts on it. First off, it's a Gay-Horror-Slash movie. So, some camp factor is expected. I see that the co-creators also helped on the movies Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Overall, that's not too shabby, both of those franchises made millions.
Movie starts and it's wonderful. Two boys ready to go at it in a nice old car. My first thought is "Eye Candy". And that thought was exactly right.
I want to just summarize a bit, so I don't give away any details, but it appears the drive behind this show was sex appeal and more sex appeal. Being a gay movie, we all know the drill, actors are hired more commonly for their looks than actual skill. 2nd, there seems to be a very simplified storyline and only one or two paths the movie attempts to follow. I haven't figured out why this tends to be the issue, but Hellbent was cookie cutter gay and sprinkled with horror. I'll explain.
The actors, magically delicious and yes, the type of boys you'd find in your best of dreams were ok actors. Usually their underacting or overacting dominated the scenes.

Dylan Fergus - (Eddie) is the main character. Wants to be a cop but isn't, sensitive, etc. Does an ok job, more so towards the end.

Bryan Kirkwood - (Jake) the motorcycle guy, hard to get, stranger also does o.k. Not sure why, but seemed nervous the whole movie.

Hank Harris - (Joey) is Eddie's younger brother. Cute, innocent yet horny fellow wanting to bed some jock he's got a crush on. That's about it.

Andrew Levitas- (Chaz) the sexual one. He'll bed anything that has plumbing, he doesn't care if it's outdoor or indoor plumbing! Fun character, actually does a good job in the movie, mostly because he just has to act like a horny frat guy. :)

Matt Phillips - (Toby) Wears a dress and wig nearly the whole movie. Too bad, once you get to see him shirtless...uhm....I'm afraid I can't say anymore without embarassing myself.

The movie tends to bounce off any sort of major plot or character development opportunity. We get a few little snippits of what's going on, why a character is acting a certain way, but that's about it. We see very little history in this, so it acts more like a very outside view on a group of horny studs on Halloween. If that sounds good to you, then I would say, watch the movie. Either way, you won't be absolutely upset. You get to see some great looking boys, their chests and butts. No frontal nudity (what a shame).
My final thought. Wait a bit closer to Halloween, gather up your good friends, and once you've had a couple drinks, turn out the lights and gather around to watch the show. A few drinks and some friends will make the show fun.

Eye Candy

Cirque du Soleil DELIRIUM

Cory and I have tickets to see Delirium by Cirque du Soleil this fall here in Omaha, and look what I ran across. I wonder if I can request a shirtless performance. :) Has anyone seen this? I'm curious as it's posted as a "music event". Hmmm

Never Forget

September 11, 2001
Let's all hope the fighting stops soon. May we never see such a horrific event anywhere in this world.

This week has taken forever. Even though Monday was Labor Day (US) and I didn't work, this was the longest 4-day work week ever. I can't relly describe it, but even on Wednesday I kept thinking it was Thursday or Friday. The weekend can't get her fast enough!
Three of us at work have gotten into the habit of putting in a dollar or two each and buying a chunk of lottery tickets. Our luck has been awful, however we decided what the heck. It was my turn to buy them, so I did. 6 tickets auto generated by the computers that print them out. Maybe we'll just keep donating our money to the funds, but I'll keep foolishly dreaming one day I'll win!
Next random topic. Today the cable TV person comes out to the house between 5pm - 7pm to install the HD service. We just went out and bought a new plasma TV, so of course you gotta have HD programming. It just wouldn't be right. We had a big screen tv in where the new tv is now (this should come as no surprise as anyone who knows anything about me knows my addiction to tv). The old TV is still sitting in the middle of the room taking up space.

The BIG black tv to the right is the old one. And don't mind the mess, this was about 2am and I JUST got everything put together, thus the mess thrown around...

Honestly,we're not sure where it's going to go. Looks like we may make one of the spare bedrooms a mini-theater room. Since Cory will be watching college football on the new one, I'm more than happy using the older one for my tv on Saturdays. During the fall and Winter, Saturdays turn into football days for Cory. Thus, I'm left to fend for myself for any sort of entertainment. Usually I just watch the shows I dont' get to normally watch, which Cory so elegantly dubbed "learning shows" or "school tv".He likes watching the Discovery and Learning channel type programming just as much as I like watching football. O.k. I take that back, I will watch a glimpse of football, for the hotties of course!
Well, not sure if we'll be going back to the club this weekend. Most likely not. I'm thinking a breif stop would be nice to see if any other waiter wants to boost my ego. Boy that was nice!

Time for Some Photos

Thought I'd share some photos I've had a couple friends talk about, and a couple new ones. A couple people have asked for a better picture of what I look like. Well, I don't know that I take good pics, so here is one of Cory and I in Mexico this summer. Not sure why, but the picture cracks me up, probably because we tried so many times to take a picture of ourselves on the friggin beach where both our heads were in it... I am on the right (in the hat) and Cory is, well, the only other person in the picture.

Behind us, you can see a vendor selling "jewelry". About 3 of every 5 vendors there were also nice enough to offer you their other merchandise. Very candidly, they'd wave a pipe or some little baggies and offer you some "fun stuff for the beach". I can't believe they were so open about it, and persistant. You'd think that if I've turned the stuff down 147 times over the past two days, I'm not going to suddenly want it now. Oh well, "just say no" right!?!

**Technical difficulties, it won't let me put my other pictures on right now for some reason, so I'll post them later. We'll now return to our regularly scheduled programing.

Ok.. moving right along. This past weekend, we decided to go out with our friend Amy. It's been quite awhile since either of us has gone out on a weekend to a club, especially with Amy. There was no specific event or occasion, Amy just called and we all thought it would be fun. Now, I know I'm not ancient by any means, but this outing made me feel so old. We got there fashionably late of course and got our first drinks. We found a table somehow near the glass windows overlooking the main dance floor. As we looked around, we realized we knew no one. Had this been 4 or 5 years ago, we'd have known everyone. We went out all the time and were continually surrounded by "friends". Not anymore. Weird… It felt like we were in a different city amongst strangers. Rather weird feeling. However, I guess you could say its a good thing not being popular at a club. Maybe. (if you're wondering, which I'm sure you're not, we went to the club called The Max)

The night progressed and we went to get more drinks. Upstairs in the video/quiet bar we were patiently waiting amongst the hundreds of others doing the exact same thing for a drink. Beside Cory and I stood one of the waiter/server boys. Rather cute, brown hair and eyes, shorter than Cory and I, probably 21 or 22 ish in age, and just standing there. I kept my eyes focused on the bartender making sure I didn't get overlooked. I had my money out and was ready to order. Cory was standing directly behind me to help carry the drinks. I keep noticing the waiter boy glancing over, just kind of waiting perhaps. His arm maybe half an inch away from mine as we both stood at the bar. However, my mind was still locked on my Vodka Coke I was about to order. Then I hear the boy say something, I'm pretty sure not to me, but I can tell it's about me. He asks Cory "are you two together?" to which Cory replies "yes". Then without wasting any time, he says "you guys are fucking hot".

My mind rewinds . . . Replays . . . Processes . . . "Yep, this is definitely an awkward situation" is the conclusion it immediately tells me. "What do I do now" I said to myself. So I do what comes first to me..

I smile . . .

Yup . . . that's all I do . . . I smile

(pathetic I know!)

Finally the bartender swings my way and I order. Cute waiter boy still beside me. Like a guy who hasn't been hit on so directly in years, and completely unprepared, I just stand there like a dork. I get our drinks, smile at the boy and leave. HAHA.. I just smile. I walk down the steps totally ashamed at myself. I couldn't believe I was unable to react to that, I used to be a great flirt. Cory and I have very strong relationship, neither of us would have been jealous if the other got hit on. Honestly, we take it as flattering. How can you not find it great that someone else finds your BF attractive?

So we head down to Amy, patiently waiting and tell her the story as we laugh. She looks at us and says "What.. you didn't get his number?" Her reaction was the same as mine, knowing before we'd at least have flirted back. She agreed we're all getting older and our social skills have gone bye-bye.

Point of the story? There is none, however the vodka coke was good!

Sorry, should have been two posts in one!
